Let's talk indoor plants. I love and enjoy nature. For as long as I can remember, gardeining and plants has always been a part on my life from young. I get it from my mom and my grandmother. Doing my garden and caring for my plants brings me so much joy. Apart from the beautiful ornamentals, shrubs and trees, I also have a vegetable garden. It is so satisfying to grow your vegetables and fruits.
I started collecting indoor plants 2018. Before then I was just doing outdoor gardening. I had a plant or two indoors and I always had fresh cut flowers. My husband always bought fresh flowers and I loved decorating with them around the house. I would even bring cuttings from my own garden, place them water and decorate with them. That was at our old house in Jukskei Park, our very first house. It was big enough for us as a family, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open plan dinning and living room, and a kitchen. Then we moved to a much bigger house in 2018. After unpacking and putting things in their place, all I wanted to do was fill up the empty spaces with plants and the empty walls with our own art. And I started collecting plants. My beloved husband went from buying me fresh flowers to buying plants, and I love it. I made notes of the spaces I wanted to put plants at in my house and went to the garden shop and asked for advice as to which plants to buy, because I was not familiar with indoor gardening. I killed so many plants in the begining, but I learned a lot over time. What I know today about indoor plants came as a result of the mistakes I made while learning to see and understand things from a plant's point of view indoors.
If you ever wander if there is God; look around you...
Genesis 1:9-12 says; Then God said, "Let the waters beneath the sky flow together into one place, so dry ground may appear." and that was what happened. God called the dry ground "land" and the waters "seas" And God saw that it was good. Then God said, "Let the land sprout with vegetation - every sort of seed bearing plant, and trees the grows-bearing fruit. These seeds will then produce the kinds of plants and trees from which they came." And that is what happened. The land produced vegetation - all sorts of seed-bearing plants, and trees with seed-bearing fruit. their seeds produced plants and trees of the same kind. God saw that it was good to bless us with nature.

Think about it, when we step outside in the great outdoors or into our very own garden we feel happier. Nature is a very important part of our lives. Spending time outdoors or in the garden, growing plants and flowers, or growing your own vegetable garden, bringing nature into your everyday life can benefit you mentally and physically. It can improve your mood, reduce stress, help you take time out and relax, improve your physical health, improve your confidence and selfesteem and help you be more active.
I see so much of God in gardening, it speaks to me about my walk with God. My Spirit needs to be fed and natured with the word of God. Fellowship with God and the Holy Spirit is very important. For me to grow and thrive in God, I need to be rooted in Him. Once I stop reading the word, praying, fellowshiping with God and remaining in His presence (in His Holy Spirit), nothing goes well for me. I become like a neglected plant or garden. When a plant or a garden is neglected, it begins die away, and if nothing is done about it you lose it. I learn a lot from gardening. God is my keeper, and I must let Him keep me, I can not keep myself. And it is the same with my plants or garden, I am their keeper.
I love tending to my plants... watering them, cleaning them, feeding them, treating pests and desease, if there is any. I love and enjoy decorating my home with plants. I love learning about them, their needs, how to care for them. I can't imagine my home without plants. Gardening, be it outdoors or indoors brings me so much joy and I love it.
